I’m the History Chick, a non-academic history buff who believes with William Faulkner that “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.”
Whether we know it or not, history informs everything that we do; whether we are reveling in it or rebelling against it, history is part of who we are as individual people and as a People. In my life, I’ve found the study of history to be a gateway to art, music, literature, philosophy, an expanded world view, and – frankly – to a whole host of fun and unexpected adventures.
I created helloclio to share my love of history and curiosity about the past with anyone who happens upon this site. It’s full of my musings, opinions, questions, experiments and errors about and with the past. I hope you enjoy it.
